Is there any association between dominant lower limb and osteoarthritis- A Cross sectional study

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is second most common degenerative arthritis with 56.6% affection in rural areas where as 32.6% urban India.Dominant lower limb the leg used to manipulate objects or lead out movement. Primary predisposing factor of wear and tear which might correlate dominance limb. Methodology: Total 180 subjects were screened, 61 bilateral osteoarthritis 40 unilateral selected per inclusion criteria. Dominant was noted by asking Subjects perform 2 tasks 1) Kicking Vestibular ball 2) Stepping up stepper, between this two-task cognitive distraction implemented. then co-relation knee dominant side analysed. Results: From statistical analysis above study, it found that there significant (p<0.05) association moderate 60%-70% osteoarthritis. Conclusion: study concluded chances moderately high than non-dominant
